Canada has put in place a web-based verification system for visa-exempt foreign nationals known as electronic travel authorization (eTA). The launch of this program is one of many initiatives that the Canadian government carries out as part of a joint agreement with the United States to better protect its borders.
Foreigners from the following countries need an eTA before boarding their flight to Canada as of March 15, 2016:

You can enter Canada as many times as you want for 5 years from the date your App is granted or until the expiration date of your passport, whichever comes first.
Remember, throughout the eTA application process you must tell the truth and provide complete and correct information.
